Alaska Property Group report that contracts have been exchanged for the development of a new convenience store outlet to serve Shrewsbury Business Park at Emstrey, Shrewsbury, SY2 6FG. To be occupied by The Co-operative Food, it will comprise a single storey unit of about 278 sq m (3,000 sq ft) plus ancillary service area and customer parking.
With two support units and, at a later date, a restaurant the new food store will provide a much needed facility for Shrewsbury Business Park and the neighbouring residential areas. The Co-operative Food have taken the unit from Alaska on a new 15 year lease for occupation when the building is due to be finished in May 2016.
Alan Hay of Alaska Property Group said “We are delighted to welcome The Co-operative Food to Shrewsbury Business Park to service about 1,200 people already working at The Park and also the expanding housing areas nearby. As part of Phase 2 of the Park’s development, we are also in discussion with potential office occupiers hoping to take new buildings to be constructed in the area”.

We will also create new jobs by employing 20 full and part time staff at the shop.”
