DRAGONS BREATHE LIFE INTO VACANT WAREHOUSE
Cooper Green Pooks of Shrewsbury report the recent letting of a warehouse unit to Maldwyn Dragons Gymnastic Club Limited at Unit 14, Mochdre Industrial Estate, Newtown.
The warehouse unit totals about 465 sq m and includes the main warehouse, offices, kitchen area and toilets while there is a parking to the front. The unit was available to let at an asking rent of £17,500 per annum.
Maldwyn Dragons Gymnastic Club Limited has been running as a successful club for many years based at the Newtown Leisure Centre. Due to a rise in demand they required a permanent facility to expand into with the unit at Mochdre Industrial Estate providing just that. The club have recently been rewarded for their hard work over the years in the form of a prestigious award for their head coach, Julia Rees, who won the 2013 participation Coach Of The Year award at the Welsh gymnastics awards evening in Cardiff. The move should encourage new members of all ages and standards to come and try out a new sport.
Alessio Dyfnallt of Cooper Green Pooks, who dealt with the letting, commented “We are delighted to have been able to arrange this letting to Maldwyn Dragons Gymnastic Club Limited and it is hoped that the centre will provide an excellent community facility for many years to come. The unit had previously been used by a traditional warehouse operator but, with the club and their advisors working with Powys Council, they were able to successfully gain planning consent to run the unit as a gym club. Although the Mochdre Industrial Estate primarily provides warehouse facilities there is scope for units to be used for other purposes such as leisure, offices and trade counters/part retail and there remain other opportunities to lease or buy units.”
