Go-Ahead for new Pub/Restaurant at Shrewsbury Business Park
New Lease, To Let Rent £60,000pa
Cooper Green Pooks have released details of a new restaurant/public house to be developed at Shrewsbury Business Park [SY2 6FG] by Alaska Property Group and funded by a South Wales – based family trust.
Planning permission has recently been granted for a new restaurant building to a stunning design by Walker Hay Architects of London. Totalling about 400 sq m / 4,300 sq ft , the property will offer versatile accommodation to suit a range of restaurant operations. It could also be split as two smaller units.
The building complements the very successful Wenlock Road Co-Op store and adjoining Greggs which formed the earlier phase of the scheme and has the benefit of the latter’s large car park which totals about 85 spaces.
When completed it is expected that the restaurant will provide about 35 jobs, and provide long-awaited facilities for Shrewsbury Business Park’s workforce which totals about 1,250 people. It will also provide leisure facilities for the existing houses nearby, and the new housing estates at Oteley Road.
There are bus stops adjacent to the site and Shrewsbury Business Park is a popular business meeting point serving local traffic off the A5 and A49 Trunk Roads and longer distance links between the West Midlands and Mid Wales, and South Wales /Merseyside.
Construction is due to start shortly, for occupier’s fit out late Summer 2019 and trading for Autumn 2019.
Cooper Green Pooks as letting agents for the owners are offering the property on a new lease at a commencing rent of £60,000 per annum, exclusive.
Charles Howell of Cooper Green Pooks said ‘’This new unit offers a long-requested catering/leisure opportunity for Shrewsbury Business Park as well as providing facilities for the wider area. The space is designed to be easily fitted out for a variety of operators’’.
